Fastest-ever Ligue 1 goal? Messi to Mbappe sees PSG in front of Lille after eight seconds

PSG are literally soaring in Ligue 1 competition, both figuratively as the overwhelming favourites to win yet another league title and physically.

PSG scored one of the quickest goals in league history just seconds after the opening whistle against Lille on August 21, as Kylian Mbappe netted the opener just minutes after the opening whistle.

He got a ball over the top from Lionel Messi and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper to put the ball in the back of the net almost immediately.

It's supposed to be the fastest goal in Ligue 1 history, but there's considerable doubt about that.

PSG looked to extend their lead in Ligue 1 after scoring five goals in each of their first two league matches of the 2022/23 season.

The Parisians got Ligue 1 history off to a fast start, possibly setting a record, with a road trip to LOSC Lille.

Lionel Messi lobbed the ball over the top to Mbappe, whose precise touch prodded the ball perfectly over Lille goalie Leo right away.

The ball crossed the goal line only eight seconds into the game, which is claimed to Ligue 1 history be a Ligue 1 record for the fastest-ever goal.
